With Depth and Breadth...

With depth and breadth,
my heart expands,
acknowledging a universal plan.
"Become the light-
YOU hold the key,
to OUR infinite possibility."
Standing in your light,
you will be free of fear,
reflecting back to you,
are messages-
crystal clear.
"Go forth in LOVE,
and you will see,
the beauty of our nature,
and who we will soon be."
With depth and breadth,
my heart expands,

REMEMBERING,
the universal plan.

In this moment,
my pulse...

rhythmically dances,
to the soft,

STEADY,
whispers of my heart:
"you remember. You Remember. YOU REMEMBER."

Transcendence and Freedom

These beautiful pictures are not just pretty things we can look at and dream of being, but they are beautiful and authentic places in which we can truly exist. TRUST you are exactly where you need to be in this moment. Quit fighting yourself and your experience, and relax into the messages of the present.

As hard as it may be to understand some days, we must remember we are given the tools/challenges we need to evolve and be something stronger, better, and more whole- everyday. Courage and fearlessness are born in the surrender and trust that each moment will guide you to the place you need to be when you are ready to listen with your heart. Suffering is born in your resistance; your false notion that you can control and manipulate a piece of your experience that does not belong to you.

Allow growth, healing and love to flow into your life and fill the places not yet basking in the light, it is here you will find peace, serenity, and unending love for self and others.  And know as you find the space and ability to offer this to yourself, all previous traumas/experiences that brought emotional and/or physical hardship were not in vain. They will have taught you transcendence and freedom.

Yours in Sacred, Loving Service,

Lindsay

Wellness

If I might offer each of you the idea that wellness is not just a lifestyle change based on dietary choices and/or exercise, but a true journey within. It is in the healing, and integration, of your heart and soul that you will find the freedom, courage, and discipline required to make any decision you so desire. Lokah Samasta Suhkino Bhavantu

The SOUL...

(There is a reason all religions have very similar mystic roots as one another- they were all born, and grew, from the collective consciousness over space and time as a method to process our human experiences with the divine.)

I received an amazing gift today from a friend.  A story- her story, and all the beautiful recognitions that came along with that for her.  It was one of the more meaningful, engaging and insightful conversations I have ever experienced, and that is profound as I spend most of my days thinking, feeling and conversing with others in deeply meaningful ways.  She drew an image that she had been seeing over and over, and then its evolution and finally after speaking with me about some things, her conclusion about the image.  She believed it was the symbol for the Soul.  It was beautiful and the ideas and insights behind it were mesmerizing, and, we both concluded from what our experiences have taught us, correct.  It was the Soul (on paper, explained in a way neither of us had ever been able to articulate independently with such clarity).  We were each others missing puzzle pieces in that moment.  It was incredible.  Absolutely incredible.

My point in sharing this is not to now explain to you what we were looking at or concluded, for it is something I believe you witness in your own time, as you need to see it, when you are ready.  My point is, as she put it today, that we offered such important reflections to one another.  We provided each other with confirmation, support, and insights that were both shared and new, but that pushed both of us beyond our boundaries, and into a new and peaceful space.

I feel many of us have forgotten this truth- that we are but reflections of each other, for better or worse (doesn't matter, it all has the potential to be our teacher), and as such we must share, support, listen, serve, love, honor, and challenge each other in order to grow.  Over time, the Oneness of our experience as humans has been splintered into an array of personalities, habits, preferences, judgments, addictions, and egos.

Using my spiritual path as an example, a great many years, anytime I had a profound recognition I thought 'I' was the one who had made that conclusion- 'I' was the founder and owner of that progress and I would feel very proud.  I remember it always felt very rooted in ego, rather than rooted in peace if that makes any sense at all.  It was an idea I had in my life, as opposed to an application I had in my life, but I claimed it as mine and shared it like I was the all knowing.  The idea was not mine to own.  It was always a shared piece of information, cycling somewhere through our collective consciousness- I just finally received it and managed to translate it in whatever unique form it asked to be shared.  The message was a gift to help me along my journey in ways I had all but forgotten.  But it was never mine!  How silly of me to perceive myself as so separate from the whole.

The difference in my life now, is that those messages/wisdom come streaming through loud and clear, and with great consistency, and they are always something that I find in my heart (not my head) while living, breathing, and sharing the most authentic and honest version of myself that I know how to offer in that moment.  I have come to think the messages and insights are always there and available to each of us, and when we can reconnect to our collective identity and detach from the ideas that have created barriers and distance between ourselves and our neighbors, they stream through loud and clear.  If you think of reconnecting to our oneness,  imagine the oneness being a great radio tower.  Reconnecting is figuring out how to build yourself a stronger, clearer, more reliable tower that allows you to receive a higher frequency of sound and information.  The main difference in me that I believe has supported the foundation of this new communication is that I have created a radio tower from a deeply grateful learner's heart and am open to receiving information in a way I was very disconnected from before.  I also practice actively seeing myself in every person I encounter, particularly those I find myself having any sort of reaction to or judgment about, or who I feel deeply disconnected from.  This practice has shifted my whole perspective and relationship with life.

I truly believe we owe it to each other to share our most authentic selves always, even when we may appear confused, weak, angry, joyful, embarrassed, hurt, happy, etc. in the process. We owe it to each other for so many reasons, but particularly because it gives ourselves and others permission to see each other in those reflections.  To learn from each other, to offer safety, compassion and forgiveness to one another, to see our oneness, our connection.  It says with no judgment- "we meet here in love and sacred honesty."  It allows us to acknowledge that we all exist on some point of the continuum at any given moment.  Not a single one of us has lived a life absent of self doubt, fear, bad choices, beauty, love, and courage, and not a single one of us exists at any one point on that spectrum together, but we can certainly honor each other as we travel along that continuum, as equals.  We can learn and grow by sharing with each other.  We can offer humility, strength, and love to ourselves and others with no expectations, rather we can provide those things to each other in a sacred, warm, and welcoming space.  You never know what you might heal inside yourself or others by offering your most authentic reflection to the world.  Try it, it is pretty darn liberating! ;)

In love and support on the journey,

Lindsay

So the 'truth' as I understand it goes a little something like this...

Words are a wonderful and troubling thing all in the same breath.  'We are what we eat', right?  We constantly are receiving streams of information about 'who we are' from ourselves, friends, family, the outside world at large.  The ones we choose to reinforce are the ones that create our life.  We are the co-creators of our life, working in partnership with the divine, and while we all have probably heard that before, perhaps we have refused to listen to its wisdom.  WE are responsible for our experiences here, and we are this because we are the ones in the drivers seat when we react to one another, communicate with each other and ourselves; choose, often carelessly, the attitude with which we will perceive something, or the assumptions, biases, and judgements that we allow to flood into that process.  So, the truth as I understand it- is simple- (when you are ready to deconstruct enough of your world to experience this)- live with love in your heart, from your heart.  That roughly translates as I understand it in my own life to a couple of things:

1.)  Assume the best in others always- even at their lowest points, assume that is the absolute best they can offer you/the world in that moment.  If they could offer more, be better, they would.  Every moment in a persons' life leads up to who they are in each and every moment.  You have no idea what they are working with on their tool belt, where they came from, what emotional traumas they are working through, supports systems they have, etc.  You just don't know, so choose to assume the best in them- always.  Know that this is done with strength and compassion, and should not create vulnerability in your life if you maintain safe boundaries.  Offering love, does not mean inviting every person who is being a less than stellar human into your personal world.  It just means not taking anything negative from them, or assigning it to them either.  You keep a flow of positive energy moving through the space; and remarkably, in return you hold a positive space for that person to step into, should they be ready and able at any time.

2.)  Open your heart and allow yourself to see your reflection in others.  We all know we have had the potential to be a bright star in the dark night, or the darkness that surrounds that star.  We have the capacity for every emotion along the spectrum.  As we practice assuming the best in others, we too, will begin assuming the best in ourselves, and find more compassion for both our experiences and others.  We can successfully slow down, and someday eliminate all the negative thoughts and energy we bring into our world just by shifting this little thing.

3.)  Negative thoughts- Stop.  Delete.  Every time you catch yourself with them.  Stop.  Delete. There is already enough negative energy swirling around this place- don't be a contributor in your own life.  Create a magnificent, sacred space within yourself that has no room for the other garbage.  You can become a "compost bin", rather than a trash bin.  ;)  Turn your experiences into a new form of food for a different stage of the process.  Cheezy, I know, but you gather the idea I hope.

4.)  Be open.  Never stop asking questions, challenging yourself, and learning new things...do this, though understanding that it is a fundamental mentality not necessarily a daily thing.  You will have periods of rest and reflection, where you feel you may not be functioning as your highest, most energetic self.  That is part of the growth, the process.  See the challenge in these moments as being: reflective and open, compassionate and patient.  Resist the urge to over-analyze, process, or feel negatively toward yourself or others when you are here.  It is a critical time of rest that will support you on your next leg of the journey.  We all need some down time every now and again.  It is here you should really focus on nurturing yourself, not getting frustrated or disappointed with any lack of creativity, action or movement.

5.)  When you arrive in this space of low energy, reflection and quiet, and you discover your mind is still, you will realize you have fully transitioned your life to operating from within your heart, not your head, your ego.  Once you arrive here, there is a rich possibility that your life will be filled only with gratitude, laughter, love, awareness, awakening, compassion, lightness, connection, authenticity, freedom, and bright, warm light.  In this space, all things become possible because you realize that you are already part of all things.  All barriers are self imposed, and you are free.  Manifest your destiny, no more negative messages about why you cannot do things, or reinforcing the negative- it is here you can really live- fearlessly- with deep respect, gratitude, humility and humbleness.  And, while on occasion you will still feel as if you are battling with yourself to work through some of these things, trust you are not in a battle- instead, realize it truly is a beautiful, complex dance, and you will patiently learn the steps as you are ready.  Here YOU ARE.

With Gratitude,

L.

Messages...

I have been thinking a lot about messages- messages I have carried with me about myself regarding "who" I have believed myself to be for years, (many that are no longer authentic messages I continuously discover).  Messages I have been receiving presently from the universe, from my children, my journal-thus, myself, my friends- brand new, old and everything in between.

They are everywhere, and they have been erupting around me as the stars suddenly fill the night sky after the sun meets the earth each day.  I have been aware of the cycles of my life for sometime- the silence, followed by the chatter, the inaction followed by creation.  But it was not until recently that I could honor that natural cycle, accept its purpose.  Lately, I am understanding that I have finally grown fearless in my pursuit of authenticity.  I think I have finally found a really healthy relationship with my ego- the ego that tries so damn hard to interfere with my life and tell me who I should be for others.  I have deconstructed that little pest, and gently set him aside.  I have found freedom in self- or lack of self, perhaps.

I have been in a deeply reflective state lately- and those have brought me back to those early messages I carried around in my knapsack for so many years.  All those conflicting messages that found me wrought with confusion, self doubt, insecurity, anger, a desire to be hurtful to others sometimes in an effort to relieve the pain inside me.  Perhaps those messages protected me through childhood and adolescences, and probably if we are being real, even over the past decade.  I gently release them- those messages about who I was supposed to be, what I was capable of, how I would get to my next destination, and I will thank them for comforting me and protecting me in that way.  I think I understand with great clarity why we all behave in those ways- those are our tools.  You can only work with what you are given by yourself and others, and unless you seek out new ones that evolution of mind cannot occur as easily, or sometimes at all.

Lately, I have found that all the tools I need are in my heart, and they stream to it from my head as I learn to process things, and better when to let go and sit with it- to be.  They stream to my heart from my ears as I LISTEN and learn from others.  They stream from my eyes as I drink in the beauty of Mother Nature all around me, and the smiles of my children, and that friend unknown on the street.

They stream to me through my hands as they move gently across my partners cheek in the morning, or wrap my arms around my family and friends, and as I run my hands down my dogs soft coats.

My greatest teacher is my heart- and it is learning new things every moment because I believe I have finally surrendered to it- acknowledged its power and passion to guide me, often in ways unknown to me until the moment I arrive...

It took me a long time to be completely open to its direction, because I had the illusion I should and could control it.  I also was burdened by the many messages I had carried around for years about who others perceived me to be, who I perceived myself to be.  I could not let some of this MAGIC into my heart because that sounded a little crazy, a little out there- but perhaps I am "out there"- a larger part of the universe, receiving wisdom and stories from the universe in a way I did not before because I could not be open that widely and deeply- that authentically.  The universe has a magical way of providing for each of us when we are no longer bound to our illusions about what life is and should be.  I don't have any formal answers about who or what conducts this flow, and I don't need them because I am learning to just trust them.  To be moved by the flow of the current.  Did you know that there is a place in Africa where all elephants from all over the country go to die?  They just know to go there.  I just know to go places recently, and I know that light will greet me.  I don't fear the darkness and I know I will arrive in it many, many more times in my life, but what if I can think about it as a shadow, or shade from the light?  Or even the restful darkness provided by the night sky?  My heart opens wide, and I smile as humbly and honestly as I think I ever have.

The butterfly's wings expand, and I am transformed.  I have arrived, I am whole.

May you follow the light on your journey and turn away from that which is absent of it.

Namaste,

L.

The Butterfly...

How often do we lead ourselves astray looking outside of ourselves for resolution?  Trust...an interesting concept.  How do we truly offer trust to another when there may be places internally that communicate that it does not exist outside of us?  I often seek out guidance from my beautiful friends, but my gut so often communicates all too clearly with me about what it understands about the world and my relationships.  At what point, do I heed my mind's eye and stop talking...start listening to what I already know.  They have so much to offer me, but many of our conversations are not worth their time.  I have this incessant desire to process my world, when often I think it is my inability to sit with my discomfort and patiently wait for a sign, communication or resolution to manifest naturally, that causes the wheels to turn.  I do not need you, or you, or even me to tell me where to go.  I need to go when I am moved, I need to TRUST that all is well because I am open to my path and freely flowing.  When I am stalled, or uncomfortable- well- that is a part of life.  If I have looked and realize that all is right, and I have humbly accepted all that I have contributed to my situation, then there is no need to go further.  Let it go, shut up.  This too shall pass.  I realize that processing, attempting to find words for my feelings to process the situation with another is quite silly, really.  What do we have to offer others in these situations?  What am I looking for from them?  I don't know.  How often do I just find them hearing me differently than I intended for them to and feeling misunderstood, and sometimes more uncomfortable?

Here I am, today, on this lovely November evening 2011, feeling transformed.  A butterfly; one still pumping blood to my wings.   Still struggling to discontinue, unlearn and break old patterns of behavior.  Still mindfully learning to ignore the chattering that tells me not to sit peacefully with the discomfort, but rather feebly and foolishly attempt to conduct the cacophony inside my mind.  And some days I can break those cycles, I do.  Other days, perhaps not so well, but it is far more quiet these days than ever before.  The stillness provides comfort and confirmation that I can grow, and have grown.  I should never doubt the wisdom inside me, it is ancient and knows its place.  I am just still learning how to TRUST it to have its place in my world.

Namaste,

L.
